Information We Collect

Mailing list. If you choose to join the LSCC mailing list, you provide your email address through the signup form. The address is submitted to this site's API and stored with a server-generated creation timestamp. We do not require an account to join the list.

Optional analytics. If optional Umami event tracking is enabled on the site, it may receive event names and limited context such as the page path or signup variant. The site calls this tracking only when the optional analytics service is available.

Access gate. While the site is protected by its temporary access gate, the browser stores a session-only value indicating that the visitor has unlocked the site. This value is held in session storage and is intended to last only for the browser session.

Operational data. Hosting and API infrastructure may process ordinary technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as request method, URL, response status, request identifiers, and timestamps in service logs. We do not ask visitors to submit this information through the site.

Cookies, Browser Storage, and Optional Analytics

The current site does not set a first-party cookie for the temporary access gate or the consent record. Instead, it uses session storage for the access gate and local storage to remember your cookie-consent choice for up to six months. These values do not contain your mailing-list email. The strictly necessary category is always on for these site operations.

Optional analytics are off unless you explicitly enable the Analytics category. If Umami tracking is enabled on the site, LSCC may then receive the event names and limited page or signup context described above. No optional analytics service is loaded merely because you visit the site.

Functional, advertising, and social-media tracking categories are not currently used by this site. If those practices change, this notice and the available choices will be updated.

How We Use Information

We use mailing-list addresses to send LSCC updates and to manage requests to join the list. We use the associated creation timestamp to maintain the mailing-list record. Where optional analytics are enabled, event information helps us understand general site interactions and improve the visitor experience.

Session-only gate state lets the site remember an access decision during a browser session. Operational logs help hosting and API providers operate, troubleshoot, secure, and measure the reliability of the website.

When you use Get in Touch, LSCC stores your name, email address, role, and message in the site's shared PostgreSQL database for review by verified LSCC administrators. The message remains stored even if email sending is unavailable. Administrators may reply to the address you provide. The reply text, administrator name, timestamps, and send-attempt outcomes are stored with the original message. Resend processes an outgoing reply using LSCC's configured sender; provider acceptance does not confirm delivery. Replies sent back by email are not imported into this Inbox. The form does not send an automatic email confirmation, notify staff, or add you to the mailing list. This notice does not set a fixed retention period for contact or reply records.

Storage and Retention

Mailing-list addresses are stored by the site's server-side application with their creation timestamps. LSCC retains those records for as long as needed to operate the mailing list and honor the purpose for which they were submitted, unless a deletion request or another applicable need changes that period.

Session storage is temporary and is controlled by the visitor's browser. The consent choice in local storage expires after six months and can be changed using the controls on this page or in the footer. Operational logs and optional analytics data are retained according to the practices and settings of the relevant hosting, API, or analytics service.

Sharing and Service Providers

We use hosting and API infrastructure to serve the website, process mailing-list requests, and maintain operational logs. Those providers may process technical information on our behalf as necessary to provide their services.

The site requests font files from Google Fonts to display its typography. A visitor's browser may connect to Google to request those files, and Google may receive technical information associated with that request.

The site contains links to external websites, including partner, sponsor, and research resources. When you follow an external link, that site's own privacy notice and practices apply. LSCC does not control those sites.

Your Choices and Rights

Joining the mailing list is optional. You can choose not to submit an email address and can stop using the site at any time. You can also clear session storage through your browser if you want to remove the temporary access-gate value.

To ask about access to, correction of, or deletion of a mailing-list address, or to ask a question about this notice, contact LSCC using the mailing address or phone number below. We may need enough information to identify and act on a request, but we will not ask you to provide a password or other secret through this website.

Security

LSCC uses reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the current site and its limited data practices. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so please do not send confidential information through the site.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13, and LSCC does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the site. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, please contact us so we can review the request.

Changes to This Notice

We may update this notice when the site's data practices change or when clarification is needed. The effective and last-updated dates at the top of this page will show when the current version took effect. LSCC should review and approve this notice before the site launches and whenever the site's practices materially change.
